Django 1.2 E-commerce: Book Release

Just in time for the 1.2 launch, Packt Publishing has officially released my book, "Django 1.2 E-commerce", you can order it now from the Packt site and also on Amazon.

The book covers a variety of topics related to using Django and Python for e-commerce applications. We cover building basic merchant services and interfacing with common payment processor APIs like Google Checkout and Amazon AWS, leveraging Django's great community of 3rd party apps and open-source libraries to build applications faster, and several advanced items like building a custom search engine indexer, using Amazon FPS for micro-payments, and generating our own web services APIs. Check out the full table of contents.

You can read a sampling in this blog post over at Packt's site Setting up a Complete Django E-commerce store in 30 minutes. It quickly makes our way through a very basic e-commerce application in Django, partly to show-off how rapidly you can get going with the framework. In addition, a sample chapter on report generation is also available from Packt.

In addition, when you order a copy, Packt will pay a portion of the royalties back to the open-source community.
